From my in-box:
Tomorrow morning, we would like to ask for your vote for Tom Kopko for County Chairman at the County Republican Convention. Although we believe that both candidates are fine men, we think that the committee should be led by someone with the enthusiasm and to get the job done. Tom has that enthusiasm and will work hard to re-energize the committee. Specifically, Tom has committed to the following:
1. Returning to a regular monthly committee meeting schedule. Meetings have become irregular and attendance has dropped off accordingly.
2. Returning to regular and successful social events, such as the Labor Day picnic. We have drifted away from family events such as the picnic.
3. Recruiting new members and volunteers through an aggressive advertising campaign, including sending post cards to new county residents, an idea first proposed over 4 years ago.
There is much at stake for our Party during the next two years and we cannot afford to be passive about our plans for growing the vote for Republicans. The Democrats have been on the march – steadily and relentlessly – and have found victory in their methodical and tenacious methods. They will continue to challenge Republicans in places and at levels we have not yet seen. We assure you, their leadership is not passive nor resting on recent laurels of victory.
Our choice in Prince William is clear: we can continue the status quo with meager results and yield more ground to the motivated, energized Democrats – or we can vote in new leadership, with new ideas and new energy to take the necessary steps to put us on a winning, successful track.
We believe political historians will look at this period in one of two ways: it was either the time when the Democrats began a resurgence and took back the majority, OR, it was the time when the Republicans counterattacked and cemented their winning majority in the preeminent Republican County in Virginia. We will work hard to make sure it is the latter and so will Tom Kopko.
Please join us in voting for Tom Kopko for Chairman of Prince William County Republican Committee so we can begin to move in a new, winning direction. Thank you for your consideration.

For the record, once again, I have endorsed Brian Murphy in tomorrow’s election and will be voting for Brian.
Brian sports numerous endorsements from elected Republican officials as well as long-time activists, too. Tomorrow will tell who is best at mobilizing their supporters. As soon as I get back from the convention tomorrow afternoon, I’ll be sure to post the results and anything else that went on.
