At 6PM on the 28th, he will be. I’m holding off saying more until the filing deadline passes.
Isn’t it interesting how hard you have to dig to see who intends to run for a public office as a Democrat? Could there be a reason for that???
Mr. Riley: I’ve known about Mr Dion, have done a bit of reserch on him and can assure you Mr Dion is not a “President” of any Lake Ridge’s Condo HOA’s because the address he is using is one that is part of Lake Ridge proper. The condo associations within the Lake Ridge boundary’s have their own Boards and Management companies. They do not report to nor are they part of the Lake Ridge HOA itself. Mr. Dion has never had any involvment whatsoever with the larger Lake Ridge HOA. From what I have been able to find (I have known about this for at least two weeks – after eighteen years in the district I have an awful lot of “eyes and ears” out there) Mr. Dion is a very short term resident of the Occoquan district with no name recognition, no community service, who just recently joined the PWDC. He is Sen. Puller’s legislative aide and is a Victim’s Rights attorney. The real question is where does he ACTUALLY live? He owns a town house up in Alexandria with another individual. Another WebSite he is on indicates Alexandria is his address. The Lake Ridge address is that of either his former spouse or his mother. I’m not able to discern the relationship of the owner of the Lake Ridge property but Jeff Dion is not listed as an owner. He is listed as a co-owner of the Alexandria property, which coincidentially was sold to him by the current owner of the Lake Ridge property prior to her buying the Lake Ridge property in 2002. Tangled web with regard to these properties, but bottom line is Jeff Dion has no discernible history within the Occoquan Magisterial district. Even the Dem’s know very little of or about him.
so helpful to have John Gray commenting on Democratic candidates. Just a few years ago you were a Democrat, said you would always had been a Democrat, and that this is the party you really belonged to. Mr. Dion is a fine, consistent, and trustworthy individual. He will beat you easily if you end up as the nominee.
John, I’m disappointed that an accountant such as yourself would do such a poor job of due dilligence. It’s quite simple to look up the county tax records and find coveyance # 200201110005552 that shows I purchased the property 1/11/2002 and I have lived here ever since. You certainly didn’t question my residency when you wanted my vote for the Democratic nomination for Supervisor in 2003 (and when I was already a member of the Democratic Committee). I was elected to the Antietam Woods Condo Assn in 2003 and reelected in 2006. I served as Vice President and then assumed the presidency when the President moved (I think that was January of this year). Best of luck on December 16th, John.
I guess that settles that matter.
[...] The PWC Dems have their nominee for Occoquan Supervisor and it is, as we previously speculated, Jeff Dion. [...]
Mr. Gray:
You are a Democrat. Stop picking on a fellow Democrat.
John Gray can now add a Republican attribute to his “distinguished” resume: Liar.
Mr. Gray:
As a Democrat, CPA and Treasurer of a environmental nonprofit organization (Prince William Conservation Alliance) can you please explain why the tax exempt status of this organization shouldn’t be questioned for taking part in alledged political activity on behalf of a recently elected public official (the skewed Alliance Candidate Forum that favored Corey Stewart organized by Stewart’s planning commission appointee, Kimberlt Hosen [also Executive Director of the Alliance])?
Moreover, can you please explain why you’re all of sudden going so strongly after Mr. Dion on behalf of Corey Stewart? You are simply doing the dirty work for him helping him put another Stewart clone on the BOCS – Mike May (that’s how Stewart operates).
Finally, with the Prince William Conservation Alliance gaining a much greater influence over the BOCS with Stewart as Chairman and Hosen as a planning commissioner, what will you bring to the BOCS Mr. Gry but just anther vote, joining Stirrup, Stewart and now Covington?
Will you join them limiting the use of private property to basically enjoying the view and helping to build trails so others can enjoy the view also?
Far be it from me to defend Dion — while I am sure that he is a fine Democrat, a great representative of the current party — I can say without question that he resides in Occoquan. I attend church with him at St. Matthew’s Lutheran and have been to his home in a church-related event. It is most assuredly in Lake Ridge.
Thanks for weighing in, Jim. I think that this non-issue can be put to rest and the candidates can focus on their solutions to various problems impacting the district and what each of them would individually bring to the table if he were elected supervisor.
