Why is it that the WashPo has the Sen. Tim Johnson story on the front page, above the fold, blairing the potential political ramifications if he is unable to complete his term in office (an NBC affiliate in Boston was first out of the gate with this yesterday afternoon), while the WashTimes is much more subdued with an article on page 5 simply discussing that he fell ill and briefly mentioning the possible political consequences? Why is it that most Republicans today (even in various online comments) are offering their prayers for Johnson’s recovery while in situations where the roles are reversed Democrats start death watches? (See Sen. Paul Coverdell for example.)
Perhaps Don Henley said it best about the left-wing media in his song, “Dirty Laundry“
Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a
Running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry
