Statement from PWC GOP Chairman Tom Kopko

Hi again Jim. Thanks for being my favorite outlet, this time regarding speculation about the Coles race:

One will recall that upon becoming Chairman of the PWCRC I immediately set out to put the GOP in the driver’s seat, so to speak, on the top citizen concerns of massive housing growth and the resulting traffic problems. I also directed a very successful operational plan of “Team GOP” whereby all campaigns cooperated and leveraged common resources while focusing together on growth and transportation. Candidates, with the unified support of the PWCRC, achieved great victories on the issues in an extremely tough electoral environment, capped by a third open seat victory in Occoquan this year. We achieved statewide recognition for these feats and drove the local Democrats to collapse.

So, as this cycle approached I considered how I might ensure that our precious GOP themes would be ensured success at their nexus, the Board of Supervisors. One option was certainly to be the one casting the votes while another was to work at unification on the issues as part of my Chairmanship. After a meeting I arranged this morning I have renewed confidence in unity and a focus on growth and transportation at the BoCS. Therefore, the best thing for the Party at this time is for me to continue leading “Team GOP” for complete victories this year. I am certain these will also fortify the long-term success of the GOP in Prince William County.

I congratulate all Republicans on a job very well done over the past year since I took office…it often seems like just yesterday but occasionally like ages ago. I am grateful for your hard and dedicated grassroots work which is what has made, and will continue to make, “Team GOP” successful and Prince William County the best place in the Commonwealth for families and businesses to thrive.

Tom Kopko
Chairman, Pr. Wm. County Republican Committee (PWCGOP.org)

  3. Thanks Tom for making this tough decision! In light of Kilgore and Allen, the transportation bill, the elections this year, we need to maintain our momentum of a strong united GOP right now. You are doing a great job in PWC. By the way,….the Party owes you a big one. When you are ready to collect….I, for sure, will be there to volunteer and send money your way…..

  5. I contend the appliance man is vulnerable and that his “local boy” – Barney Fife image certainly provides great copy for the Washington Post as they cast Prince William as the backwater flush valve for the rest of Northern Virginia. However, his voting record joining Barg and Jenkins says it all for me. Kopko should challenge the appliance man and even if he doesn’t win, at least the appliance man’s fondness of liberalism would be fully exposed for what it is worth. RINO moderates like the appliance man only believe in conservatism when they cite Ronald Reagan as a former democrat after they vote with Barg and Jenkins to expand intrusive government and spending even more. The appliance man is indeed vulnerable. He’s only as strong as the myth of his record. The Washington Post wants so-called Republicans like the appliance man on the BOCS so they can give credence to the liberal positions of Jenkins and Barg. The appliance man is their guy. That says it all for me.

  6. After everything that is happening over in the 51st race and Tom’s underhanded involvement (please see http://www.bvbl.net), how could ANYONE in their right mind support Kopko??? He appears as corrupt as they come.
