Webb Hangs Aide Out To Dry

From FOX News

Webb said he has been in New Orleans since Friday and returned Monday night. He denied that he gave the weapon to Thompson.

(It all depends on what the definition of “give” is.)

“We had three cars on Friday that were being moved about because of my trip, and that is probably a reason that this inadvertent situation developed. And that’s really the extent to which I think I should be discussing. That’s really all I can say,” he said, adding that he couldn’t talk about the case because of the legal proceedings and his desire not to prejudice the situation.

More like he doesn’t want to admit he violated numerous gun safety rules and possibly Virginia and/or D.C. gun laws.

Own up to your carelessness, Senator.  You should ALWAYS know where your guns are and NEVER leave them loaded when not in use.  People like you should not be permitted a concealed weapons permit.

  1. Wow. Just wow. Jim Webb left his aide rotting in a DC jail overnight? Looks like Jim Webb enjoys betraying the people who work for him almost as much as he enjoys betraying the troops out fighting in Iraq.

You have to wonder what this useful idiot was thinking last night as Jim Webb was “doing everything he could do”, well, except of course, posting bail for him. It may very well be that Webb knows that the screw up is his–after all, is it really plausible that Thompson would forget at a security check point at the US FREAKING CAPITOL that he was more heavilly armed than Officer Tackleberry from the Police Academy movies, or is it more likely that Webb gave him the bag and didn’t tell him about the weapon. Maybe Senator Filthy Ginger was hoping Thompson would get shanked last night so the foul up could be place squarely on the unfortunate man. After all, Webb has already endorsed having his plumbers and goons attempt to illegally obtain confidential information from his political opponents. How far a trip is it from attempted blackmail to more heinous crimes?

  2. [...] UPDATE 2: TheHill has more on Webb’s statements, as does Virtucon. [...]

  3. so how many guns does webb own that he can’t keep track of them. you mean he didnt miss it, at all?

  4. [...] Nancy Pelosi paid for by NBC.)  Sen. Jim “Thinskin” Webb (D-WashPo) can’t even keep track of his own loaded guns and hangs his loyal supporters out to dry just to cover his own sorry butt.  This knucklehead [...]
