Let's disect this. According to Websters Dictionary Evangelical is "pertaining to or in keeping with the gospel and its teachings." I copied and pasted that form the website www.dictionary.com. A Christian is a follower of Christ. So wouldn't a follower of Christ keep with the gospel and its teachings (The stroy of Christ's Life and his teachings)? I could care less what your denomination is Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, Interdenominational, etc, a Christian is a follower of christ. Does Dr. Dobson know for sure who is and isn't a Christian? No . . . only God can say that for sure. But Dr. Dobson can give his opinon as to whether or not a person past behaviors show them to be a Christian. Does Dr. Dobson know for sure who is and isn’t a Christian? No . . . only God can say that for sure. They do not question "how much" of a Christian or "how good" of a Christian you are - you are NOT a Christian. To an evangelical, a non-evangelical who calls himself a Christian might as well be Jewish or Muslim or Hindu or Buddhist. The thoughts Dobson expressed tie in directly with those of Robertson's flock (and university) who were commenting that Mitt Romney, because he is Mormon, is as far from Christian beliefs as one can get.
