Sen. Thinskin angling for an easier job with even less duties

This is ridiculous.  (You’d think Chuck Todd was still running the Hotline instead of serving as a consultant to Nancy Pelosi paid for by NBC.)  Sen. Jim “Thinskin” Webb (D-WashPo) can’t even keep track of his own loaded guns and hangs his loyal supporters out to dry just to cover his own sorry butt.  This knucklehead deserves to be prosecuted and have his concealed carry permit revoked.  I guess that makes him a quality candidate for the Dems to consider for their ‘08 ticket as VP.

This begs the question — how IS Phillip Thompson doing these days?  His preliminary court hearing is set for May 1 at 9 a.m.  Who is paying his legal bills?  Is Thinskin helping out at all?  (After all, the gun did belong to this bonehead to begin with, so Thompson wouldn’t even be in this mess if it weren’t for him.)  Who was the “friend of a friend” who recommended this attorney to Thompson?  We are talking about a public official and government employee here.  We have a right to know.

Instead, we get word that Webb wants to close Gitmo and process terrorists through the U.S. legal system (the same one that his own carelessness landed Thompson in.)  If there is any justice, Webb himself will experience the legal system up close and personal soon enough.

  1. There is no way Webb will own up to it. It is preposterous that he lets his aide take the fall but it looks like Webb does know how to be a Senator. Thompson will take the fall and Webb will be saved, end of story.

  2. He’s learning at the knee of Uncle Ted Kennedy.

  3. [...] it sounds as if Webb himself is floating his name by denying his interest. We’ve been ridiculing this notion for over a year now (pretty much as long as this non-entity has been in elected [...]
