Wrap up of news stories covering front pages the day after:
Gunman Who Killed 32 Lived in Va. Tech Dormitory – Washington Post
Massacre at Virgnia Tech – Washington Times
Horror at VA Tech – Richmond Times Dispatch
Local residents reflect on Tech shootings – Potomac News
Rappahannock girl one of the victims – Free Lance Star
Shooting victims at Tech massacre named; 9 hospitalized - Roanoke Times
Roanoke Times Guest Book for Virginia Tech Shooting Victims – Leave your notes and prayers.
Side note: I was frustrated this morning to open my Free Lance Star to see a photo of a bloody student being carried out of a building accompanying the story of the massacre. The student was not identified and look as though he was probably one of the victims. Why do newspapers find a need to show something like this? The young man’s family probably was not hardly fully aware of their son’s status prior to the editors pushing the picture to lead on the front page. Can’t they show a little respect for those who died? I’m disgusted to see the same picture on the front page of the Washington Times website this morning.
When I was in high school I had a friend who was killed in a car accident. The Potomac News was on the scene in time to snap a picture of his body being removed from the wreckage. The following morning all of his friends and family were greeted with the picture of is lifeless body on the front page of the newspaper. That has always stuck with me on how disrespectful the news media can be. Obviously the media has not shown any signs of improvement over the years.

Yeah no kidding. I can’t believe how it would feel to see someone you knew and loved. I’ve been out with some cops before at their work and seen things that I’ll never forget, and I didn’t even know the people.
