I’m sure at some point that those of us who were old enough to go to concerts back in the ’80s couldn’t make one on account of something — it being a school night, being away on vacation, whatever.
Well, it looks like the summer of 2007 may just be your chance to rectify the situation.
In the coming months, concerts by Huey Lewis & The News, Asia, The Police, Genesis, Chicago, The B-52’s, The Steve Miller Band, The Moody Blues, Rush, Morrissey (from The Smiths), George Thorogood & The Destroyers, and The English Beat will all be coming to the area — sorry, The (New) Cars and Blondie toured last year.
So, break out that 3/4-length sleeve baseball t-shirt from the Synchronicity tour that your buddy picked up for you because you had to go to Grandma’s that weekend and see Sting, Andy and Stewart on the second-leg of The Police’s tour in support of their landmark 1983 album. Lift high that BIC lighter for another encore from Asia in the “Heat of the Moment” — 25 years after you found “yourself in ‘82, where the disco hotspots hold no charm for you.” Only this time, you’ll need your spouse’s permission to go…

That’s a great post, speaking of the 70’s and 80’s Blue Oyster Cult is coming to a casino here in Calgary this weekend and I’ve gotta check it out.
Not sure if it’s original members but I loved Don’t Fear the Reaper and their albums were pretty decent
Just heard “Burnin’ For You” by BOC on XM ’80s on 8 this afternoon.
