First, the WashPo was writing articles about Hillary!’s cleavage. Now, they have an article mocking the name “Fred” as a means to slam Fred Thompson. Seriously. Where are they finding their reporters? Kindergarten? Can we look forward to “potty jokes” from them next week? No wonder the WashPo still looks to Ben Tribbett for quotes (even though his blog died an excruciating death earlier this year) – they’re both operating on the same immature level.
This isn’t anything new for them, though. Back in 1996, every article in the WashPo about Steve Forbes called him Malcolm S. “Steve” Forbes, Jr. even though they never referred to other candidates in such a manner (why not William J. “Bill” Clinton? — it was always just “Bill” to them.) I’m actually surprised that they’re not writing Willard M. “Mitt” Romney this year.
Where is their article making fun of the strangest name of all the candidates this year – ”Barrack“? Oh, that’s right. That isn’t politically correct to do. I’m sure if we dug far enough back in their past, we’d find some WashPo article making fun of the name “Ronald” as well, but probably not “Franklin.” They should just drop all pretense of being any sort of serious newspaper and be done with it.
