One More Example Why Immigration Laws Need To Be Enforced

The WashTimes has this troubling story:

Jose Carranza, an illegal alien from Peru, was indicted twice this year: 31 counts surrounding the reputed sexual assault of a child and nine stemming from a bar fight.

But federal immigration officials hadn’t heard of him until Thursday, when he was charged in the execution-style shooting deaths of three Newark college students.

Mr. Carranza had been free after posting a bond of $5,000 when the shootings occurred, but immigration officials say he may never have returned to the streets had local authorities contacted them after his first felony arrest in October 2006.

The three victims here were all black and set to attend Delaware State University this fall.  Instead, they were buried Aug. 11. Had this dirtbag been kept out of the country to begin with or if Newark didn’t have a sanctuary city policy in effect that shielded him from being discovered by the Feds after his previous encounters with the law, those kids would be alive today.

UPDATE:  Get a load of this.

…another suspect is an illegal immigrant from Nicaragua with a long record of arrests who was ordered deported in 1993 but never left.

However, The (Newark) Star Ledger reported Tuesday that the man — Rodolfo Godinez — obtained permanent legal residency in 2001.
