Gerry Connolly Hangs Out The “Welcome” Sign For Illegal Aliens

Fairfax County Chairman GerrySt. Patrick’s Day in JulyConnolly has called Prince William County’s proposal on illegal immigrants political posturing and unworkable.

“What, pray tell, constitutes probable cause? Is it how someone looks? Is it their accent? Is it what they’re wearing?” he asked. “That sounds like profiling, and I don’t know how they’re going to get over that.”

It isn’t rocket science, Gerry.  If someone does not possess a valid Virginia driver’s license or ID, that is a pretty big red flag that they may be here illegally whether the person comes from Central America, Asia, Europe or even Canada.  Are you really that big a doofus as not to realize there is such a simple standard that can be applied on an even-handed basis or do you just play the big doofus role on TV?

Ooh! Can I answer that question?

Gerry goes on to say that even if the program can be implemented, he states that it wouldn’t do any good because there is a limited number of illegal aliens that Immigration will take into custody.  That right there says he doesn’t get this issue at all.

Why don’t you just post this sign at every entrance to Fairfax County and get it over with, Gerry?

First, the PWC resolution is primarily aimed at denying services to illegal aliens with the goal of forcing them to either become legal or leave — in other words “self-deport.”  Second, forceably deporting illegal alien criminals who are in police custody is a public safety matter.  Just ask the citizens of Newark, NJ.  As I recall, Fairfax was the first jurisdiction in this area to suffer a machete attack.

None of this is very surprising for a guy who is overseeing the removal of the great literary works from the Fairfax County library system, turns a blind eye to overcrowding and illegal boarding houses, has in place a de facto illegal alien sanctuary policy, and is so bad at keeping campaign promises that even the WashPo has run a series of articles on Connolly’s failures as Chairman.

A Dec. 2006 article on unfulfilled traffic reduction promises

A June 2006 article on unfulfilled commitments on infrastructure improvements

A July 2006 article on unmonitored zoning violations

A lengthy July 2007 article on potential conflicts of interest

UPDATE: Check out BVBL for Greg L.’s take on Connolly’s latest.

  1. Connoly most certainly needs to head to the areas in and around centreville and manassass. There are enough illegals there that might vote for him, as if that were legal..who knows maybe he does not care

  2. Illegal immigration is OUT OF CONTROL in Fairfax.

Another brutal attack yesterday in B. Xroads by an illegal. A murder a few weeks before that.

Our community and others are fighting for our lives – trying to reduce the trash, loitering, overcrowding, gang graffiti, poverty, and decline of our schools.

    It’s out of control.

  3. [...] told you months ago that this would happen once Gerry “The Big Doofus” Connolly hung out the welcome sign [...]

  4. [...] candidate Gerry “The Big Doofus” Connolly should have expected this when he hung out the welcome sign for illegal aliens last year. One of the wealthiest counties in America reports crime skyrocketing [...]

  5. Connolly should be sent to prison for treason. This guy has turned to once prosperous quiet beautiful county into a 3rd world cesspool. Every illegal alien should be deported immediately. Every politician to provide sanctuary to these criminal should be fined a million dollars and sent to prison.

  6. Vorak is impressed by the holodeck demonstration – he can even see his own house from their vantage point. ,

  7. Putting results to work in therapy. ,
