VA Dem Pols Commit Mass Political Suicide

(H/T BVBL)

The Shad Plank blog reports:

House Democratic Leader Ward Armstong and House Caucus Chairman Brian Moran are holding a conference call today to talk about House Speaker Bill Howell‘s remarks on illegal immigration.

According to the Dems, Howell needs to be scolded for suggesting that the state’s newest residents may not embrace “the shared values we have in Virginia.” Democrats appear to be using that statement to make a larger point about the expected flood of legislation aimed at curbing and punishing illegal immigration.

Newest residents?  Newest RESIDENTS?  Hello?  THESE PEOPLE ARE ILLEGAL ALIENS.  By no stretch of the word are they “residents.”

Armstrong and Moran say the GOP has an “immigrant-bashing agenda for the legislative session that will begin in January.”

No, the GOP agenda by no means “bashes” immigrants in any way.  What it does is seek to remove the incentives for ILLEGAL ALIENS to gravitate to the Commonwealth.  The Republican agenda is intended to uphold the law so that anyone who is here LEGALLY, whether they be natural born U.S. citizens or a LEGAL IMMIGRANT, can pursue their God-given destiny.

It seeks to distract voters from core state issues such as transportation, fiscal prudence and good governance. But bigotry-mongering’s day in Virginia is long past, and voters in the state have shown little disposition to reward candidates who extol intolerance.

Messrs. Armstrong and Moran have no legislative agenda whatsoever, no ideas, and no clue as to what to do about transportation, fiscal prudence or good governance. If they did, they would realize that ILLEGAL ALIENS negatively impact each of these areas.

The last refuge of a scoundrel is to charge someone else with “bigotry” as these two have done here today.

The battle lines are drawn for November’s elections.  Republicans have taken the side of U.S. citizens and legal immigrants who played by the rules.  Democrats have taken the side of lawlessness and the illegal alien apologists.  In other words, in the current environment, Virginia Democrat politicians have just committed mass political suicide on a scale akin to the Heaven’s Gate cult.
