If Only Ham Sandwich Had A Pulse…

The results are in on Ham Sandwich’s campaign for PWC Commonwealth’s Attorney:

Prince William County Registrar Betty Weimer said her office doesn’t tally the votes for “invalid” write-in candidates, those that don’t receive more than 5 percent of the vote or those who don’t register as a write-in candidate before the election.

But the Commonwealth’s Attorney ballot received 682 write-ins, more than any other Prince William County office on the Nov. 6 ballot, according to unofficial results from the Virginia State Board of Elections. Ham Sandwich’s name appeared in nearly every precinct.

That’s right, we here at Virginia Virtucon in a joint effort with Black Velvet Bruce Li managed to get a deli product the most write-in votes for any office in the county and in just about every precinct. Just think of what we could accomplish with a candidate who actually has a pulse.  Next time, Ebert, we’ll have a real live candidate coming after you and your pathetic record.

  1. [...] Riley points out that Ham Sandwich didn’t do all that bad on election day, garnering more votes than any other write-in candidate despite being a deli product whose entire campaign consisted of a web site and some press about six months ago.  No money was spent advancing this candidate, Ham had not a single volunteer, and not one sign advancing Ham’s candidacy was placed.  So while he fell far short of unseating Paul Ebert, Ham Sandwich definitely exceeded conventional expectations.
