Keeping Illegal Aliens Out Of PWC Schools

A new visitor I.D. system for Prince William Co. schools goes into effect on Dec. 3, requiring any visitor to any PWC school to show a valid government-issued form of I.D.

Prince William County Public Schools is implementing a new electronic visitor identification system in all schools beginning on Monday, December 3. This Divisionwide safety initiative will provide an added layer of security, helping to further ensure the safety of all students and staff.

Effective December 3, when a visitor arrives at school, he/she will be required to provide a government-issued I.D. which is held until the visitor signs out. The I.D. is scanned into the system and a visitor’s badge is then produced that includes the school name, visitor’s name, date, location of visit, and visitor’s photograph.

The new system is networked Divisionwide, allowing staff to know exactly how many visitors are in any building throughout the School Division at any given time. Access to this information will also be available from remote locations in case of an emergency situation. Other practical uses of this new system include the ability to log volunteer hours as well as cross reference sex offender databases from across the country.

This safety enhancement was a recommendation of the School Division’s Safe Schools Task Force to provide a uniform way to monitor and log visitors.

While this is a positive and necessary step to help secure our children in their schools, protecting them from possible violent attacks and sexual predators, it also has a nice side benefit to it as well. Given that any visitor will have to produce a valid I.D. issued by the government, if this is properly enforced (meaning that only I.D.’s issued by the U.S. federal government, a U.S. state or locality will be accepted) it will also banish illegal aliens from entering any PWC schools as they cannot hold such an I.D.  The inability for illegal aliens to enter a school where they may want to enroll their children could in turn further discourage them from settling in or remaining in PWC.

This is obviously not the intention of this policy, but that is exactly why it could withstand any judicial scrutiny as there is a rational basis for doing this other than to deny children of illegal immigrants a public school education as the U.S. Supreme Court wrongly decided in the 5-4 Plyler v. Doe decision.  Ladies and gentlemen, I think that we may have just stumbled into the loophole that will effectively gut that decision.

  2. How can we get this into the public eye so that Politicians get pressured into PROTECTING our US citizens and our children?

My child does not get a Free (to us) bi-lingual education. Most of the world is bi-lingual. Our children do not get an education that will prepare them for 20 yrs from now in work force unless they become multi-lingual.

At this moment I’ve been looking for work for some time. Even the mgt. jobs say Spanish/English fluent required. Not Preferred but required.

I’m in N. Texas. Help! How do we get this in the news Nationwide?
