    -- President Abraham Lincoln - 1864

"The supply-side claim is not a claim. It is empirically true and historically convincing that with lower rates of taxation on labor and capital, the factors of production, you'll get a bigger economy."

***DEMAND*** PWC Schools ONLY Accept U.S.-Issued I.D.

Yesterday, we reported on the new Prince William Co. school system’s visitor I.D. system to help safeguard our children against possible violent attacks and sexual predators.  Now we hear, via Greg L. over at BVBL, that there is a huge loophole in this system rendering the expensive equipment being installed essentially useless.

From the Manassas Journal:

Visitors can show any government-issued identification card, school division spokesperson Irene Cromer said. The ID card could be issued by the United States government or the government of another country, she said.

That is simply unacceptible.

As Greg correctly points out, forms of I.D. from other countries do little good here when you’re trying to compare against criminal databases.

One of the potential identification documents that would be accepted, as this article suggests, is the notorious “Matricula Consular” card. The FBI says this documement is untrustworthy. It’s very easy to purchase fake identification documents of this sort, and fraud with these is legendary. CIS notes that even hard-core criminals can easily obtain them. We’ve seen these same weaknesses with the identity documents provided by other foreign nations, such as El Salvador, as well. To allow foreign identification documents as identification is utter madness.

In a day and age where there are reported plans for terrorists to attack our schools, known as “The Perfect Day” scenario, and they have become so bold as to plan an attack against a U.S. Army base in Arizona, can we really afford for the PWC school system to play these kind of cute little games with our children’s safety?  The terrorists planning the attack on Fort Huachuca received assistance from Mexican drug cartels:

“A portion of the operatives were in the United States, with the remainder not yet in the United States,” according to one of the documents, an FBI advisory that was distributed to the Defense Intelligence Agency, the CIA, Customs and Border Protection and the Justice Department, among several other law enforcement agencies throughout the nation. “The Afghanis and Iraqis shaved their beards so as not to appear to be Middle Easterners.”

According to the FBI advisory, each Middle Easterner paid Mexican drug lords $20,000 “or the equivalent in weapons” for the cartel’s assistance in smuggling them and their weapons through tunnels along the border into the U.S. The weapons would be sent through tunnels that supposedly ended in Arizona and New Mexico, but the Islamist terrorists would be smuggled through Laredo, Texas, and reclaim the weapons later.

A number of the Afghans and Iraqis are already in a safe house in Texas, the FBI advisory said.

. . .

The connections between criminal enterprises, such as powerful drug cartels, and terrorist organizations have become a serious concern for intelligence agencies monitoring the U.S.-Mexico border.

You can’t convince me that these terrorists or others like them would not be provided with some form of I.D. that PWC schools would accept under this policy.

DEMAND that PWC ONLY accept valid U.S.-issued I.D. for entering our schools — NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

  1. Has anyone ever told you you’re seriously paranoid and/or that you don’t know the whole story?

  2. Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you…

Seriously, though. Do you recall Beslan? A little more than 3 years ago Chechen separatists took 1200 students and adults hostage in a school there. In the end, 186 children were dead (a total of 334 civilians were killed) and hundreds more were wounded.

Can’t happen here? Well, who thought 9/11 could, either. And before you go jumping on these things as mere conspiracy theories (which I think make fine X-Files episodes, but not much else), check out the links to the articles that are cited here and their sources. FBI, Nat’l Terror Alert Response Center, DHS, etc.
