Is Hillary getting ready to go nuclear on Barry?
From yesterday’s National Review Online:
A smart political operative said within earshot of me yesterday that if Hillary has more metaphorical bombshells to drop on Obama — and this operative has heard secondhand that she does — she’ll do so between April 16, the date of her next debate with Obama, and April 22, Pennsylvania’s primary day. The timing, of course, is so she doesn’t get asked about it by the moderator or confronted by Obama.
Hillary’s numbers have actually been inching up a bit in the Keystone state lately. At the beginning of the month, Public Policy Polling shocked the world by suggesting Obama was ahead by two points. Their latest poll puts Hillary up by 3. In the Insider Advantage poll, Hillary’s lead has increased from three percent to ten percent. In SurveyUSA, she’s gone from leading by 12 to leading by 18. Some other polls show no change or a slight loss of ground.
The Kansas City Star chimes in with this:
Is this pure off-base speculation or informed speculation? Some Democrats supporting Obama have fretted that there might be footage of Obama or wife Michelle nodding during a damaging Jeremiah Wright tirade. Could this be it or would it be something else? Or is there nothing there to unveil? And if there were something wouldn’t they have done it already? And if they do, will it completely back fire on them in a big way because it will be seen as dirty politics?
I’m sure we’ll be hearing more on this in the days to come from Virtucon’s very own Rittinger, who serves as our mole within the Clinton circles…

Working on it. All I’m hearing so far is “the other shoe is going to drop” and that they have some real damaging stuff that they plan to release three or four days before Pennsylvania. Another intresting sentiment I hear being expressed is the idea that they will “torpedo” Obama if/when he wins the nomination. Most of the Clintonistas I talk to really, really hate the guy. They liberally toss around the terms “lightweight”, “fraud” and my own favorite “a more articulate Jesse Jackson”.
All in all, it looks very good for McCain right now as I have a distinct feeling that what shine is left is going to be off of Obama by the time he puts the stake through Clinton’s heart. Certainly Obama’s smear of small town Pennsylvanians at a fund raiser in San Francisco last night will not help–a Howard Wolfson is feverishly working to get that one out there in time for a Monday roll out.
