Rob Wittman Unopposed for GOP nod

This in from Tom Foley, 1st Dist. GOP Chairman:

At 5:01 today, as chairman of the GOP First Congressional District Committee, I certified to SBE, via fax, based on the number of petitions submitted to me, Rob Wittman as the sole candidate for the GOP which proclaims him as the party nominee for the First District Congressional seat. This means that we will not have a GOP congressional primary in June. There were no other petitrions submitted other than Rob’s.

Congrats to Congressman Wittman on his renomination. The Dems are scrounging for a candidate and currently are leaning towards Dr. Keith Hummel, who supports “basic universal health care” (i.e. socialized medicine.)
