For someone who only got a plurality of the vote and represents one of the districts that was most plagued by the problems brought on by the presence of illegal aliens, one has to wonder what Woodbridge Supervisor Frank Principi is thinking.
Prince William County supervisor Frank Principi says he will propose that the county repeal a policy that directs police to check the citizenship or immigration status of criminal suspects they believe might be in the country unlawfully.
Principi is the first member of the board of supervisors to challenge the enforcement element of the county’s recent crackdown on illegal immigration. The crackdown was approved in October, when Principi was not on the board. The policy denies services to illegal immigrants.
Does he think that doing this will endear him to enough residents countywide so that he can run for County Chairman in 2011? Being weak and duplicitous on the resolution didn’t work out so well for Sharon Pandak in 2007. Being outright opposed to it as Principi now is… Well, I’ll let you decide that for yourselves. If he keeps this up, we’ll have a 7-1 GOP dominated board in 3 years.

Please boycot Prince William County if you are living in VA. The only reason the lady is mad is because of the property tax which she has to pay, not because she suddenly saw light. Corey Stewart is a typical example of a WHITE AMERICAN RACIST. He plans to run for lt. governor. I will do everything in my power to politically destroy him, his carreer and even if it destroys his family it is a small price to pay to keep our state free of these Racists. For now, as long as the Virginia government does not come to me for money to help Prince William I am ok with it. If Stewart wants more money he should ask his fellow racists at CIS and FAIR to bail to him out..racists such as Kirkorian, Camarotta, Stein and Jessica Vaughan.

What does being against illegal aliens gobbling tax dollars have to do with being a racist? You do know the difference right?

I agree totally with the rationale that Principi was against the resolution and then wanted it repealed simply because it was destroying his district…which has been in the toilet ever since 95 was built and then potomac mills……….so yes, that is where poor people go to live…..that ‘rule of law’ thing really grates me!! Its a friggin federal law and not a BOCS matter
Ken, that is extremely condescending to the many hard-working people who live in Woodbridge. (I’m sure Frank appreciates you calling his district a “toilet” — and if that is your opinion of Woodbridge, how did the resolution make that worse?) Some are very well-off while others are struggling and there is everything in between. One thing in common is that they all deserve to be able to live in an area that is safe, clean and provides them with opportunities to better their lots in life no matter what their current position. Don’t forget, these arrests were not made because they were illegal aliens since that is only checked AFTER they are arrested for something else. Principi’s position would have all those who were arrested for crimes in his district back out on the streets rather than waiting in an ICE detention center for deportation. That is a direct threat to all the law-abiding people in his own district.
Yes, it is a federal law — it is called 287(g) and allows for local police departments to help with immigration enforcement.
Extremely condescending!!!!! You are extremely condescending. i have walked the streets in campaigns and know the number of well-to-do people could be counted with your fingers…….Belmont and Riverside Station area…….and then thre’s Marumsco Plaza……and it is terrible that you take Princippl’s positoin and twist it into something else………he wants ccriminals back on the streets….most sane people want them in ICE detention……and Corey was calling it the Rule of Law Resolution long before 287 was signed
Ken, I am only condescending towards you.
I’m glad you’ve walked the streets of Woodbridge during campaigns. I’ve helped in the classrooms where my wife has taught there, met the students and their parents. I’ve taken my daughter to piano lessons in someone’s home there. I’ve patronized businesses there.
Yes, Ken, by advocating for the repeal of the Rule of Law resolution, the practical impact of Principi’s position is putting criminals back on the streets. Deal with it.
You do know that by definition, ‘criminals’ have been dealt with under our justice system and once they have paid their debt to society, they walk. Are you suggesting your alleged rule of law resolution would put them back on the street?
