An October Surprise to Sink Obama
Team Clinton is foreshadowing what Virtucon’s own Rittinger has been saying here for quite a while.
Her aides also tried to stoke concerns yesterday among elected officials and party leaders, known as superdelegates, about whether Obama could win in November, with one warning of an “October surprise” that could ruin his chances.
. . .
A Clinton adviser said the situation was increasingly becoming one in which “she cannot be nominated and he can’t get elected.”
The only question is whether Team Clinton’s fingerprints will be on this when it eventually does come out.
This is the first time that Team Clinton is publicly alluding to this in the media. Just remember, Rittinger has also warned that Team Clinton has the goods to sink Marky Mark, too, and that is the real reason why he dropped out of the presidential race. Fall 2008 could be quite the scandal-ridden time for Democrats…

If she’s got more to drop, she better do it soon. Wright did not kill him, so I don’t know what can.
I think she realizes it is too late for her in ‘08 and is aiming for 2012 instead now. If that is indeed the case, best to sink him later.
Precisely, you have to remember that when dealing with the Clintons they are always looking over the horizon. Love them or hate them, the Clintonistas have always had a talent for thinking a couple of moves ahead. And while they did get caught flatfooted by Obama–well actually, Mark Penn screwed things up so badly that he should never get another campaign job as long as he lives–once they pushed Penn aside, they have actually done one of the best rear guard actions I have ever witnessed.
They were ready to hit Obama with the kitchen sink last week when they thought they could possibly beat expectations in North Carolina. When they saw that Obama had a firewall in the form of 55% of the Dem Primary voters being black, they backed off that. Now the game is simple–they blow Obama out in West Virginia and Kentucky and try to finish close in Oregon. Despite the MSM’s protests, such an event brings us back to where we were after Pennsylvania. Then you might see some of the stuff they have on Obama. If the Party Establishment moves against her anyway then the Clintons have a decision to make. Do they demand the VP slot in exchange for burying the goods they have on Obama or do they figure Obama is a loser in November and they work to undermine him–like they did to both Al Gore and John Kerry–and wait till 2012.
If Obama had any brains–and at this point I think that despite his Ivy League pedigree, Barry O has shown himself to be a not particularly bright, thin-skinned, petulant idiot–he would beg Hillary to take a place on the ticket and promise her a Dick Cheney-level of power in his Administration. But he because he is both thin skinned and petulant, he won’t and sometime in September or October he will find that he has been done in by a Howard Wolfson knife between the ribs.
And by the way, I’m not saying he is a winner with Hillary on his ticket–he’s no better than a 50/50 proposition in that case. However, if he goes it without her he is a lead pipe cinch loser who will get blown out in Florida and lose Pennsylvania and Michigan on his way to a not particularly close loss.
Around the Virginian blogosphere…
… Or at least around my Virginia blog-family, anyway…….
Perhaps all this info will come out:
Google, ‘The obama file’.
Could the surprise be about the cocaine and murder of Donald Young, the choirmaster at Obama’s Church.
I particularly enjoyed reading “Rittinger”’s post. Thoughtful and makes a few good points. I don’t know how prophetic it may prove to be, but it has factual integrity…. If Obama wins the nomination, John McCain will surely be the next president. Back in 2005 while visiting Baghdad with Hillary Clinton, he was asked by Meet the Press’s Tim Russert what he thought of Hillary as president. His response: “I am sure that Sen. Clinton will make a good president”!
