Marky Mark’s Campaign Theme Song Now Has A Video

Yes, Marky Mark really did have this song recorded for his 2001 race for governor. It was part of his outreach to rural Virginia voters, along with sponsoring a NASCAR so that he’d have his campaign logo all over it. Frankly, I think this song comes off as Marky Mark thinking that people in rural Virginia are stupid hicks. This song alone sets economic development in rural Virginia back about 75 years.  And how many people in “NOVA-ville” as they call it have heard this song? (Except the people in the Fredericksburg-area, myself included, who were unfortunately subjected to it when his campaign erroneously bought ad time for this on the Top 40 station B101.5 back in ‘01.) Talk about your pandering to different constituencies.

Anyway, since Marky Mark’s campaign theme song is all about education, we thought it might be helpful to put his education record up to highlight exactly what he did as governor…

Once again, this song is real and was used by the Warner campaign in 2001 and he is rolling it out once again in his senate race.

  1. The question is: What moron would buy ad time on B101.5?

God, that station is terrible. Are they still playing songs by Miley Cyrus?

I wanted to drive my car into a tree after I heard B101.5 playing the song.

  2. B101.5 is the reason why I bought XM years ago.

And their morning news-reader, Bonnie whateverhernameis, is just AWFUL. She can’t pronounce words correctly, screws up all the time and is biased to the Dems in politics and the Yankees in sports. The only decent thing that station has is traffic and weather. My alarm clock is set to go off precisely when it starts so I don’t have to subject myself to more than 3 min. of that station a day.

  3. So, I take it you’ll be voting “moron” instead of “liar” in our poll on Marky Mark?

  4. No option for “all of the above”?

  5. I’ve gotten many inquiries on that. I had considered it, but that would be too easy and everyone would vote for that. I wanted to make people think and truly decide which they thought he is.
