With the election of Del. Jeff Frederick as new RPV Chairman and Del. Bob Marshall’s near upset of Jim Gilmore for the U.S. Senate nomination, Prince William County-based candidates sent shockwaves throughout the Virginia Republican establishment at the weekend convo. Before Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling announced his campaign for reelection in 2009 earlier this year, PWC Chairman Corey Stewart was a leading candidate for the LG post. And in 2007 while Republicans were being wiped out in Northern Virginia, PWC bucked the trend where Republicans actually built on their last election totals (the one exception being the 51st House seat where the party was split following a controversial convention.)

Don’t forget that Prince William also has one of the highest rates of foreclosures. That means there are good deals in PW.
Polls today indicated that Virginia is now a purple state. I question the integrity of such polls that fail to recognize the strong Republican influence that prevails in the 10th and 11th Districts.
The Convention clearly demonstrated the strength of the Party, and under the new leadership of Jeff Frederick, we can look forward to the same unity that is demonstrated in the very diverse 52nd District that Jeff serves.
Lyle Beeflelt, also newly elected as the Chairman of the PWCRC, will close the cap between the moderates and conservative base and together we will win elections.
Both of these men bring integrity and a strong work ethic to their new jobs. It’s time for volunteers to put their money and time behind them and our candidates and fight to keep the Republican seat in the 11th Congressional District, in the U.S. Senate and in the Oval Office.
Centrist, moderates, conservatives, Libertarians and even Indpendents need to work together for limited government and lower taxes, clean, renewable energy solutions, and to reduce our dependency on foreign oil.
Prince William Republicans can and will make a difference in the outcome of elections!
