Brian Kirwin at Bearing Drift has a recap on some of the bills being introduced by GOPers for the upcoming General Assembly special session on transportation. Del. Glenn Oder is proposing a transportation trust fund lockbox to firewall gas tax revenue from being spent on things other than transportation (you remember, the same thing that Gov. Timmy! promised he’d do before he called to increase any taxes.) Another comes from Del. Mark Cole who is seeking to dedicate at least some of the revenue coming in to the state from former Gov. Marky Mark’s tax increase to transportation needs. The title of the bill? The “Fix Mark Warner’s Tax Increase” act. Be sure to read Brian’s take on these bills.
