House of Delegates Passes Substitute Transportation Bill

The House of Delegates passed a substitute version of HB 6055 tonight on a 51-45 vote.  This bill is NOT the one sponsored by Del. Phil Hamilton, rather it is a floor substitute proposed by Del. Glenn Oder of Newport News along with an amendment from Del. Bob Marshall.
Some quick observations:
In NoVA, more funding for [...]

NVDaily Live Blogging Gen. Assembly Special Session

Head on over to NVDaily.com for liveblogging of today’s General Assembly Special Session.  That’s about the only way other than being there to know what is happening in the House of Delegates as it goes down.  The State Senate actually has their proceedings streamed on the web – your choice of audio or video.  Heck, even the PWC [...]

Majority of Gloucester County BOCS, Sheriff Indicted

Four of the seven Gloucester Co. board members — Supervisors Teresa Altemus (R), Michelle Ressler (Ind.), Robert “Bobby” Crewe (R) and Gregory Woodard (Ind.) – as well as the county sheriff Steve Gentry (Ind.) have been indicted for conducing public business in secret.  The BOCS members were indicted on 12 misdemeanor counts.

According to Wikipedia, other predictions in the movie [...]

WHEREAS, the [...]

Is Your Toddler Racist? or UK Overrun by PC Crowd

This is just unbelievable.

Toddlers should be taught about racism and singled out for criticism if they have racist attitudes, a Government-funded advisory group said yesterday.
It told nursery teachers, playgroup leaders and childminders to record and report every racist incident involving children as young as three.
These could include saying ‘Yuk’ about unfamiliar food.
Even babies should not [...]

*** DEFEAT HB 6055 ***

Tell the GOP members of the House of Delegates to defeat HB 6055 when it comes up for a vote today.  This bill is bad policy pure and simple.  It won’t solve our transportation problems and deserves to join its counterpart HB 3202 in the oblivion that the Virginia Supreme Court placed that legislation.  Just [...]
