U.S. Senate Holds Hearing on Fat Kids

From the Congressional Record on yesterday’s proceedings:

CHILDHOOD OBESITY (PART I)
Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions: Subcommittee on
Children and Families held a hearing to examine childhood obesity,
focusing on the declining health of America’s next generation (Part I),
receiving testimony from Jeffrey Levi, Trust for America’s Health
(TFAH), and Bruce Lesley, First
Focus, both of Washington, D.C.; Francine Kaufman, University of
Southern California, Los Angeles; and Margaret Grey, Yale University
School of Nursing, New Haven, Connecticut.

Yes, fat kids. With terrorism and high energy prices, the U.S. Senate is holding hearings on fat kids.

What? They couldn’t get the fat kid from “Goonies” to testify?
