Dems Select Failed Delegate Candidate To Be Future Failed Congressional Candidate

According to VJP, Dems have selected failed ’07 HoD candidate / part-time psychotherapist Bill Day to be their failed ’08 congressional candidate against U.S. Rep. Rob Wittman.  Given how spectacularly he failed in his race against Del. Scott Lingamfelter last year, we’re looking forward to an equally degrading showing from him this year!

Now, back in ’07, Greg L. over at BVBL did a bang-up job detailing Bill Day’s “qualifications” such as they were.  Let’s travel back and look at Day’s ’07 campaign –

Called for eliminating the U.S Border Patrol — oh, that’ll go over real well in the 1st Dist.!!!

Backs U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich’s (D-Ork) idea to establish the U.S. Dept. of Peace as a counter to the Defense Dept. — again, let’s see how that flies in the 1st Dist.

And if the Dems’ thought they had problems with their last candidate in the 1st Dist. and his business problems, they’re not doing much better with this choice

It was also divulged during Wednesday evening’s debate that Day, who touts himself as a businessman of 40 years and a licensed counselor in Warrenton is… well… neither. His business license with the town of Warrenton and his license to practice as a counselor through the Commonwealth of VA are both expired. Also, the State Corporation Commission has no record of his two business partnerships that he cites on his Statement of Economic Interest filed with the Clerk of the House of Delegates.

Looks like he also has some issues with hunting without a license:

Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries has no record of him holding a hunting license in the last 18 months. Day responded that he doesn’t need one because he is a fox hunter… unfortunately for Mr. Day, the Virginia code requires a license for this activity, cited in section 29.1-300 and 29.1-335 of the Virginia State Code.

I certainly hope that the VoteDay.org website is updated for the “Bill Day for Congress“ campaign!!!

  1. Why did the previous candidate drop out?

  2. Because he was afraid that his multiple bankruptcy filings would become an issue in the race.

  3. I had the opportunity to meet and speak with Day a couple times. He is also a big proponent of the Federal Gov’t forming a Dept. of Peace, to rival the Pentagon.

That too, along with eliminating the Border Patrol, should go over real well in the military-heavy 1st Congressional.

  4. Shucks, I punched the key to read Greg L.’s bang-up job, and you know what? It came up with FORBIDDEN in big, black letters plus “You don’t have permission to access.” How will I ever find out what he had to say? I’m sure I’m missing something juicy.

  5. Man – the same thing happened at “hunting without a licence”.

  6. You must have been banned by BVBL then, because others can still reach it.

  7. MK, I’ve added the part about the Dept. of Peace. Thanks for reminding me.

FYI, before anyone thinks that the reference to Dennis Kucinich (D-Ork) is supposed to be “Dork,” it is not. It is a reference to Mork’s home planet.

  8. Riley – What does it take to get banned by BVBL, I wonder? Hurting Greg L’s feelings maybe”?

I’ve heard about being banned in Boston but ….

  9. You’ll have to email him to find out.

  10. [...] Riley and DJ wasted little time in providing their assessment of the choice. Riley writes: Given how [...]
