What is it with Dems’ lack of knowledge of basic geography? Barry Obama’s claim of 57 states and not knowing which states Illinois borders on. Gov. Timmy!’s lack of knowledge of which states Virginia borders on.
Today, the claim by Team Obama that GOP VP nominee Sarah Palin lacks foreign policy experience as the Governor of Alaska shows them to be the idiots that they are. As Virtucon contributor ConservativeFembot pointed out, Palin would have had to deal with TWO foreign countries that surround Alaska — Canada and Russia (which sits across the Bearing Strait) as well as OPEC.

[...] Update II: And just to show that there’s a market for that kind of stupidity, there are already idiots repeating it as an actual argument online. [...]
Yea, but really what’s so important about Russia these days. It’s not like they’re going around invading other countries and affecting oil prices or anything.
Yes, Alaska borders Canada and Russia.
However, Alaska is forbidden by the US Constitution from having any formal “Foreign Policy” or “Foreign Relations” with either of those two countries without the express consent of Congress.
Atom, EVERY governor goes abroad and has meetings with foreign leaders, particularly on trade issues. That does not amount to formal Foreign Relations.
You can still have such experience and many governors do.
Besides, what foreign policy experience did Bill Clinton have as Governor of Arkansas before becoming President (not Vice President as Palin would.)
GOP supporters can produce no substantive evidence that Palin has engaged in any meaningful foreign policy formulation. Her sole official foreign policy obligations have consisted of inspecting the Alaskan National Guard doing overseas training exercises.
Please point to something substantive Obama has been involved with ala foreign policy aside from living abroad.
