  2. Funny how the Washington Post reports that the park only holds 13,000 people maximum.

  3. The crowd was spilled out beyond the park.

  4. How can Wash post judge how many people it can hold? Has it ever had a crowd like this? I use to attend fireworks at the park and crowds for fireworks was never anywhere, anywhere close to today’s event

  5. Very close to 30,000 easy.

  6. I was there and the turnout was spectacular! The crowds went crazy for John McCain and Sarah Palin. Without doubt these two will become the President and Vice President of the United States!

  7. The Secret Service count (number of people going through their scanners) is 23,000. I’ve never seen anything like this.

  8. Great rally today! Tens of thousands of enthusiastic McCain-Palin supporters. It was a win-win day for John McCain. Their speeches were similar to the convention speeches, except mention of Obama’s earrmarks and criticism of the Fanie Mae/Freddie Mac bailout. McCain looked and sounded presidential. When did this guy become a rock star?

  11. I shook Palin’s hand and I’m never washing it. She’s just as hot in real life as she is in her pictures. And you guys got the cheap seats. I got dream tickets.

  12. 23,000 says one person… 28,000 says McCain-Palin… 15,000 says the fire marshall, whose job it is to keep an accurate head count.

    Wonder who to believe…

  13. Actually, the 28K figure was a typo that should have been 23K. They got that figure from the Secret Service since the metal detectors keep track. I’d go by that over a fire marshall who was guesstimating..
