Greg L. at BVBL has acquired emails exchanged between Eric Byler, the producer of a YouTube documentary who supports overturning PWC’s anti-illegal alien policy, and County Exec. Craig Gerhart and PWC’s Communications Dir. Liz Bahrnes. These exchanges show that Gerhart and Bahrnes are aiding this individual using their county email accounts and county resources in support of an effort to undermine current county policy.
A line has definitely been crossed here. Both Gerhart and Bahrnes previewed video footage and provided feedback to the producer of this project.
Of particulare note is this line from Gerhart, which I take was intended to be humorous:
Thanks for the chance to take a look at the video. I share Liz’s view, which as you know, is how she’s finally gotten me trained.
Now, I don’t believe that Gerhart is Bahrnes puppet. But this does show that a cozy relationship exists between Gerhart, Bahrnes and Byler.
Furthermore, Greg also uncovered that Gerhart’s office has been supplying free DVDs of county board meetings to Byler (who coincidentally also runs a pro-Barry Obama YouTube channel.) Normally, these DVDs cost $15 each and, according to Greg one is usually stonewalled by Gerhart’s office which treat such requests as Freedom of Information Act requests. But apparently Gerhart’s office thinks that running a YouTube channel qualifies you as part of the “media” and thus eligible for free DVDs and avoidance of FOIA requirements.
I have previously chronicled my issues with Gerhart here and here. This is the straw that breaks the camels back and shows that he is working behind the scenes to undermine official county policy as enacted unanimously by the BOCS.
The time has come to clean house in PWC. Craig Gerhart and his cronies need to be fired.
