The University Mary of Washington, a publicly funded University thinks it’s just fine and dandy to sell Obama/Biden T-shirts with the UMW logo on them at the campus bookstore. I wonder if the same would be the case if McCain/Palin were to visit UMW?
The shirt has UMW’s logo on the front and the back reads: “Obama was there, Biden was there, I was there, UMW ’08.”
“We came up with the ideas and ran it up the chain at the university,” said bookstore manager Kathy Underwood. “We wanted to make sure it was appropriate.” Rest of article
This is off the heels of the Fairfax County School Board denying the Fairfax McCain rally to be held at Fairfax High School. The state appears to be filled with double standards.
Call the UMW President’s office at (540) 654-1301or email mcorbin@umw.edu and ask they stop selling the Obama shirts now!
They got the message!
Update: Did the UMW bookstore manager and Unversity chain of command violate state law?

Attorney General agrees.
If that’s the case, then the AG is right to stop the sales.
