Voted at New Market, in the southern end of Shenandoah County. No wait to vote, was number 219 at 8:45 am...considering the number of registered voters is somewhere in the 1100-1500 range, turnout is very high in a VERY red district...if it's like this all across the valley with high GOP turnout, this may offset any gains the Dems may have made in other areas.

I voted in Newark, DE. I see alot of McCain Pallin signs in a Biden Country. I voted around 10:30 and it was very easy. They checked my ID and I voted in a minute for all GOP candidates. No lines at all. It would be amazing if DE goes Republican. Biden hasn't done anything for this state.

I live in Central Wyoming and I voted around 10 am MST. There were a few people standing in line, but these people were mostly changing their voting status due to a change of address in the last few months. The precinct that I vote in was kind of slow compared to others. I filled in one ballot and spoiled it, so I had to get a new one. The spaces where people stand was full the second time, so I had to wait a few minutes. All in all, I was in and out in less than 1/2 hour. For the most part, when the people got done voting they left or visited with friends that were coming to do the same thing.

I voted in West Central Fairfax, near Fair Lakes. Not a lot of young people, not a lot of minorities. It took me perhaps 20-30 minutes to get through the lines, no problems. Identification properly and respectfully requested.

At our polling place, the GOP put on a nicer show, with cheerful, outgoing people and a perky flag-adorned table. The Dems featured a sullen teenager and a humorless middle-aged woman at a rickety, uncovered table. They mostly just sat there, rarely even venturing out to offer a sample ballot.

Ace of Spades picked you up off Campaign Spot. Your numbers may spike---happened to my husband at http://www.thebrewdogblog.com.

Congrats! You were cited by the Campaign Spot at National Review:

We had big lines this morning at my precinct in Western Fairfax. The Democrats made a big show with their tents and lots of volunteers. Not that the Dems were doing a lot of work. Reminds you of a big, ineffective government program in a way. Until 8:30 or 9 AM the lines were long (1 hr 15 min or so to vote) , but after that things settled down pretty well. The polling place was using both electronic and scan (paper) ballots.

Voted early in Chesterfield County, arrived just before 6, and stood in line (inside, thankfully) for 1 1/2 hours. The Obama folks had a cover, table, and materials. The McCain person stood nearby in the rain beside a sign, and spoke on her phone, though it was only 5:55 a.m. While getting in line to submit my completed ballot, I noticed a poll worker approach the lady in front of me. I missed what brought on this exchange. She looked over her ballot and said "uh-huh" a couple of times. It looked like she was verifying that she'd "voted right". I dunno.... I saw that she'd bubbled in the first name, Obama, on the list.
At my precinct, it was 50-50 black/white, I think. I am pretty sure that's the typical make up of our small polling area.
This county tends to be conservative.
