As Bearing Drift reports, Barry Knight won his race for the House of Delegates in the 81st Dist., crushing his Dem opponent 83 % to 17 %. In yesterday’s other special election, Democrat Delores McQuinn held on to the seat in the 70th Dist. with 73 % of the vote to 27 % for . . . various write-ins.
Both of these races should be huge embarassments for Virginia Democrats with more than one 1 of every 4 votes in one race going to write-ins and their candidate in the other race receiving 10 % less than the write-ins in the first race. Or, as Brian Kirwin on BD put it:
An unopposed candidate had a rougher time than Virginia Beach Republicans winning today.
Next up the special election in the 46th Dist. for Brian Moran’s former seat. Let’s turn that one from Blue 2 Red next Tuesday and give the Dems a black eye in the heart of NOVA!!!
