Former U.S. Rep. / HUD Sec. / VP nominee Jack Kemp has been diagnosed with cancer. According to The Politico, the cancer is “in multiple places.” Our prayers are with you and your family, Mr. Kemp.
I had the great privilege of getting to know Jack Kemp about 15 years ago when I was in law school and I did an internship at Empower America, the think tank he put together along with Bill Bennett, Vin Weber and Jeane Kirkpatrick. Other than family and friends who knew me when I was young, Kemp is the only person to refer to me as “Jimmy.” After I was sworn into the NY bar, the first paying job that I did for a client was for Mr. Kemp. Had he run for president in 1996 as he originally planned, I was tapped to be on his campaign. If Ronald Reagan is my political grandfather and Steve Forbes my political uncle, Jack Kemp is my political father. This is a sad day for supply-siders.

This is really a bad news. Hope he will surpass such trial and should never give up.. We offer our sincere prayers for his recovery.. He is a good person, hence, deserves a longer life. We hope that he’ll recover soon.
Sorry to hear this. He has been a true inspiration to the conservative movement. He did a fundraiser for me in 1995 when I was running for reelection in my first term. My thoughts a prayers to him and his family.
