Now, some libs are saying that this is so much better than the silver framed photo of the Queen and her husband that she gave to Obama. Here’s why that doesn’t fly.
1. A silver framed official photo of the Queen can’t be bought at your local mall. There’s only one place you can get it — from the Queen.
2. The Queen already has an iPod.
3. No doubt the Queen already has all those photos and videos of her trips.
4. Certainly she heard what a cheap gift Obama gave to Prime Minister Gordon Brown (a set of DVDs featuring classic American films that can’t be played in the U.K. because their TVs/DVD players are PAL format while ours are NTSC format.) Undoubtedly, she decided that whatever the gift Obama would give to her would be so lame that she shouldn’t go beyond giving the standard gift of a silver framed official photo. She was right.
Wait, I do believe that the Queen has already decided what she’ll do with the iPod that Obama gave her.
UPDATE: TOTUS (Teleprompter of the United States) has on its blog what the Obamas’ plans are for the framed photo of the Queen.
Lady M was looking at the gift in the car, and thinks the frame is real sterling silver. She says she will either melt it down and have it made into something cool, like a paperweight in the shape of an African fertility god, or use the at-home gold-plating kit Oprah gave her to make it look a lot classier and re-gift it to the Browns next year for Kwanza.

Just curious, from where does an iPod get its power? Do batteries have to be recharged? If so, does the recharger work on British electrical voltage?
I might add that the portrait of the Queen and her Consort does not use energy that forces carbon emissions. Obviously, Prince Charles must have consulted on the gift decision.
