WashPo Places Focus Squarely On Deeds’ Record of Tax Hikes

Seems as if the news division at the WashPo is earning their pay, digging into the lengthy and sordid voting record of Creigh “What’s In Your Wallet?” Deeds on the issue of taxes.

With this, the die is cast.  The Deeds campaign has passed the point of no return on his reckless record of supporting virtually every tax hike to come before him in the General Assembly.  There will be no digging out of this hole now.  He can nuance all he wants.  He can profess to high heaven that he won’t raise taxes.  But unlike Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, neither of whom ever took a vote on raising taxes before they were elected governor, Deeds doesn’t have that luxury to fall back on.

Let it ring out throughout the Commonwealth — Creigh Deeds is a tax hiker.  He’s done it before and if history is any sort of guide, he would most certainly do it again.  Especially in these tough economic times, Virginia can’t afford to have someone as reckless on taxes and spending as Deeds is as our Governor.
