One year ago today, July 17, 2008, Virginia Virtucon officially launched its Campaign for Disney’s America project that aims to persuade Disney to purchase Busch Gardens in Williamsburg once it goes up for sale and convert it to their long-planned Disney’s America park.
Please be sure to visit our Campaign for Disney’s America page here on Virtucon for a recap of the past year’s activities including coverage that we received in the Chicago Tribune.
And don’t forget to join our Facebook group, too, and spread the word!

UPDATE: Unbeknownst to us, July 17th is also the date that Disneyland first opened in California. (H/T The Write Side Of My Brain) Is that a sign that Walt is looking down with approval on our efforts? Could be…
UPDATE 2: We’re hearing reports of timeshare prices in Williamsburg increasing based upon the expectation of this happening citing a supposed tentative deal between Disney and InBev. Whether that is based upon accurate information, local rumors or completely upon Virtucon’s campaign, we cannot say.
