LOS ANGELES (AP) — Patrick Swayze, the hunky actor who danced his way into viewers’ hearts with ”Dirty Dancing” and then broke them with ”Ghost,” died Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.

Oh, damn. I liked Patrick Swayze. I loved Dirty Dancing, Road House, and so many of his other films… And, from what I’ve heard, he was also a very sweet guy in real life….
Damn.
Father in Heaven, I pray that You are welcoming home another of Your children. I pray that Mr. Swayze is now face to face with You, completely healed and rejoicing in Your presence. I pray that You send Your Spirit to comfort and uphold his family in their time of grief, and that You remind them of Your love and grace. Hold them in Your strong and gentle arms, Father, and bless them with Your mercy and salvation.
(hat tip to Fausta for letting me know)

How you can you leave out “Red Dawn”? That was one of the last great anti-commie films made by Hollywood and should be a staple for any true all American teenage boy to watch.
I know, I know… I’ve seen Red Dawn – only once and a very long time ago – and enjoyed it (hey, Americans kicking a** is always a favorite!). But when I saw the news last night, all I could think about was those films because I’d seen them both recently…
My bad.
[hangs head in shame]
I’m sure it was not a favorite of the critics, so it’s not surprising the news reports left it out.
Yeah, well, critics… *sniff* I don’t think much of them in general, LOL
Me either.
I missed out on Red Dawn but will check it out very soon.
It’s a great movie and captures the time period very well. Of course it’s over the top, but so what, it’s us against the Commies.
Never forget Red Dawn!
