The Washington Post has its new poll out showing that Bob McDonnell has recovered his lead against Creigh “What’s in Your Wallet?” Deeds.
McDonnell leads 53 to 44 percent among likely voters, expanding on the four-point lead he held in mid-September. Deeds’s advantage with female voters has all but disappeared and McDonnell has grown his already wide margin among independents.
Both Republican running mates (Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling and AG nominee Ken Cuccinelli) have 49-40 leads over their Dem opponents.
The internals for Deeds are, well, terrible. His call for tax increases was opposed by 55% of the voters “and even in Northern Virginia a slim majority of voters oppose new taxes for transportation” (WaPo again).
That has to hurt.
It gets worse: “For the first time, a majority of voters, 51 percent, say McDonnell is ‘about right’ ideologically.”
Oh, one more thing: Bolling and Cuccinelli are each at 51% “favorable.”

We all wanted to know if the COMPOST could impact and change another State wide race here in Virginia. I think we just got the answer. We can hope this will be the end of this type of tactic.
Local student group gets involved in the issues surrounding the upcoming Virginia elections.
John Tyler Community College (JTCC) is instrumental in improving and sustaining the quality of life here in Chester, VA. This fall, some local JTCC students have come together based upon their concern for the future and partnered with local citizens to create an expert panel discussion for the upcoming elections. They want to see more folks, particularly within their age group, become more involved in the voting process. Declare Yourself, the JTCC version, has an exciting opportunity to review these issues by offering these experts from across the Commonwealth.
Bill Murray, Dominion Resources
George Landrith, President, Frontiers of Freedom, adjunct GMU law professor
Larry Pratt, President, Gun Owners of America
Jeff Horgan, Americans for Fair Taxation
Kail Padgitt, The Tax Foundation
On Monday October 12th at 6:30PM, join Declare Yourself and come participate in a forum to be held on the JTCC Chester campus in the Nicholas Center Room N102B.

Apparently the smear campaign by WaPo didn’t work against McDonnell. Of course this is probably because nobody reads the rag anymore. Time to go back to hiring “journalists” instead of liberal story writers, maybe you can save yourselves.
