Marianne Horinko Joins The Battle For The 37th Senate Dist. GOP Nod

MARIANNE HORINKO ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR STATE SENATE IN THE 37TH DISTRICT

Centerville, VA – Marianne Horinko, an accomplished leader, business owner and committed conservative announced today her candidacy for the state senate in the 37th district.

Marianne will seek the Republican nomination to replace Virginia’s new Attorney General, Ken Cuccinelli. “Ken has done a wonderful job as our State Senator and I hope to be able to fill his big shoes.”

“As a mother of two and a small business owner I understand the challenges that Northern Virginia families face. Traffic we sit in everyday continues to get worse. With national unemployment reaching 10 percent, I am concerned about our tax burden and its effect on our economy, and with the budget situation our state faces, I am very concerned that our kids will not be able to get the best possible education in the future.”

Marianne Horinko has strong roots in the community where she is an active member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. She is also very active in Greenbriar West and Poplar Elementary Schools.

“My experience as a businesswoman, parent, and 17 year resident of this district will allow me to bring a unique perspective and set of ideas that can be applied in Richmond to make our communities and the state a great place to live and work.”

Marianne is a lifelong Republican and committed conservative who is strongly pro life. She will fight to keep taxes down, reduce government intrusion into our businesses and personal lives, and encourage the growth of small businesses that create jobs.

  1. Who???

Yeah, let’s put up another candidate who hasn’t ever held elected office for the Senate of Virginia.

    NOT. GOING. TO. HAPPEN.

  2. don’t people have to start somewhere?

  3. It would be nice if her press releases correctly spelled the names of the localities in the 37th.

  4. [...] a copy of her announcement press release is up courtesy of Virgnia Virtucon. Perhaps in her next press release she and her staff will not [...]

  5. What offices did Senator Ken Cuccinelli hold that I have apparently forgotten? Seems like he did a pretty good job nonetheless.

  6. Steve Hunt is a proven vote getter. He also has name recognition and is well known in the party. He deserves to win this battle and would be great in Richmond.

Who is this woman? Where did she come from? Other than having children and a job, what has she done for people in Fairfax county?

  7. I’m surprised her announcement doesn’t say anything about her being an environmental consultant or that she was a staffer at the EPA. I posted some things I found on her company’s web-site on TC’s blog.

  9. Marianne Horinko is a proven leader who has posed many important roles in her community. She has volunteered at her children’s schools, and church and and, is an active role model for moms today. She has showed me that she truly cares about what what she does and that she focus’ on important issues. I know you don’t agree with me but if you are undecided, please consider voting for your fantastic candidate, Marianne Horinko.

  10. [...] month. What has she got so far for that money?  A press release announcing her candidacy with Centreville spelled ‘Centerville’.   Her mail consultants are pumping out piece after piece of uninspired junk.  Other blogs have [...]

  11. Why would anyone support a career politician? Marianne’s a breath of fresh air and would appeal to working Moms. She is a formidable candidate and has experience in managing a government agency.

  12. I agree with Leslie Crane. Marianne is a great candidate for State Senate.
