Earlier this afternoon, lowkell touted Tom Periello’s announcement that he’s backing health reform (Blue VA).
Apparently, he missed the fine print (WaPo):
Virginia Rep. Tom Perriello (D) said Friday that he would vote in favor of Democrats’ health package this weekend, but only after he gets a promise from the Senate that it will pass “fixes” to the bill designed to make it more palatable to the House.Perriello spokeswoman Jessica Barba confirmed that Perriello’s support for the measure was “conditional on a letter signed by 51 Senators saying they will follow through on reconciliation fixes.” Other House Democrats have broached a similar idea, as they fear that they will pass the Senate bill but the Senate will fail to move the subsequent “fixes” bill.

Senate Democratic leaders have decided they will not publicly release a health care reform letter signed by their rank and file intended to calm nervous House Democrats before their historic vote this weekend on the comprehensive Senate-passed measure and a budget reconciliation bill of fixes.

the Senate wishes this would go away. Hell, they did their part & took their lumps. and Ben Nelson will certainly lose his seat. The last thing they ever, ever want to do is revisit this political nightmare.
and Perriello is just making excuses. He already said that some Catholic organization said the Senate bill doesn’t kill too many unborn on the taxpayer dime (er, these Catholics didn’t read the Senate bill), so therefore its ok to vote for it.
also, Perriello said, according to the CBO, this bill SAVES money. he doesn’t mention the tricks, the lack of doctor “fix” or the huge tax bite for his rich constituents in Albemarle county.
i’m not a fan of P. can you tell? my gut tells me that he will vote YES unless Pelosi has enough to cut him lose.
Tom “the traitor” will vote yes, I am pretty sure of that and Lowell is a hack and an idiot.
