Poor, poor Louisiana
Two presidents. Two disasters. Each perfectly suited to their talents and experience.
Wouldn’t you know it: the oilman gets the hurricane and the blowhard gets the oil spill.

Blowhard has been in office for 64 weeks if i am counting right, and gets blamed for everything in the world…………if he nationalizes BP……which he effectively will have to do because ‘private industry’ cant take care of themselves, then he will be attacked for nationalizing the oil industry,,,,,,,,Bush was dealing with simple stuff…….getting trailers…..getting people out of the astrodome…………………..the us govt does not carry the equipment ……….nor should they…………….then it would be a waste of taxpayer funds……….to go down a mile and fix something……………….Obama jumped on this in 10 days………..not 2 months…………Bush then sent the head of the fdic to fix it!! yes, its true!!!
Umm, the fed gov’t has been flooded with requests for materials from the state of Louisiana for supplies that they have, but the fed has responded with only a meager percentage of the supplies requested, though they have more.
That’s why Obama is so eager to say “BP is responsible for fixing this, we’re going to keep our boot on their neck”…because they want to deflect attention from their failure to respond by absolving themselves of all responsibility. Of course, these are the same people who complained about the federal gov’t response to Katrina.
The hypocrisy continues…
The bottom line is that, short of the federal govt nationalizing BP, BP IS responsible for fixing the problem. If ever there was a disaster that is in the sole province and capability of a fix by the company that caused it, it is this one. How in the world does anyone expect the federal govt to maintain at hand, the equipment needed to fix this? FCS, if BP doesnt have it, who does? And does anyone really think this could be equated to Katrina? And especially when GWB was tanning himself in Crawford!!
Gov. Jindal cries out for HELP from the US government!
Get the government out of our lives!
Right on Ruth!!!
I don’t remember Bush vacationing during the Katrina aftermath, but he may have been, Ken…and he shouldn’t have been. Obama about to take his second vacation since this oil spill began…what’s your point?
BP is responsible for fixing this mess, yes…BUT, considering they don’t have the resources to stop the oil that has already leaked out from seeping into the marshlands and coastlines, what do you suggest they do?
I guess we both have selective memories since i dont remember Obama vacationing!!!! My point is that one is a natural disaster for which there are ways to fix it……BP has no known solution, but the only equipment that can do it. BP has to keep trying…..maybe tomorrow’s fix will do it…..
Obama certainly doesnt have the resources to stop an oil leak in the middle of the Gulf. Katrina fixes all involved manpoower, construction, etc…..
