This from the Catoctin Democrats Facebook page:
>>>Malcolm Baldwin for supervisor is pleased to announce his endorsement by the local chapter of the Service Employees’ International Union (SEIU), the collective bargaining unit for health care workers (including nurses), property services workers (housekeeping, cleaning, etc.) and public service employees. SEIU is the fastest-growing union in the nation, and the one most concerned with the economic well-being of those in the service industries on which we all depend. These workers are among those most severely affected by the economic downturn, job losses and foreclosures. In exceptionally prosperous Loudoun County we must not forget those in our midst whose current experience is more like the rest of the nation.<<<
SEIU is one of Malcolm’s biggest contributors, giving him $2,000. They have also given $4,000 to Dick Black’s opponent, Shawn Mitchell. SEIU contribution page here.
I also noticed misinformation on the Catoctin Loudoun Democrats Facebook page. “Today is the last day to vote absentee via mail for all the candidates for VA elections. Make sure your ballots are postmarked w/today’s date!” Not true. There is no postmark deadline for ballots. According to the Loudoun county website: “Ballots must be received by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.” (Let’s keep that quiet and let Catoctin Democrats think that they can’t vote by absentee after today.)

Malcolm and Larry Roeder are like two peas in a pod. Larry is awfully proud of when he “stood with the Communication Workers of America in their strike”. He stood with them against Verizon, one of the largest employers in this county. Doesn’t really fit with a “pro business policy” he states he will use to help broaden our tax base.
Larry wants to work as a full-time supervisor. I question who he would be working full-time to benefit. Is it going to be the familes of the Dulles district or the unions that are the second largest contributor to his campaign? By the way, the largest contributor to his campaign is himself at 50% of his total contributions.
