Race for Virginia’s 10th District Republican Chair

In the 10th district we have two republican candidates for chairman of the party, John Whitbeck and Anna Lee.  (No, I cannot explain why Anna is dressed like a flight attendant in the picture on her home page. To my knowledge she is not, and never has been, a flight attendant.)  John Whitbeck has a very long list of endorsements, easily accessed at the top of his home page.  At the top of Anna’s home page she too has a tab to link to her endorsements.  Unfortunately, her tabs do not work in most browsers making it difficult to access her endorsement page.   I was finally able to reach the endorsement page using internet explorer.  Good grief. Who uses THAT?  I am not tech savvy enough to explain why the tabs only work in IE, and not in the more commonly used browsers, nor can I explain the red streak across all of her pages.  I am giving these details so that readers will know that it’s not a problem with their browser, or their computer, when they attempt to click on any of Anna’s tabs on her home page. They do not work.

As you can see John Whitbeck has many, many, endorsements.  Anna has fewer, but still a decent list of those who support her.  The problem?  At least 18 of the people on Anna’s list have NOT endorsed her.   Every day I learn of more people on this list who have requested that their names be removed because they have not endorsed Anna.  I expect more to come forward.  Many of the 18 have not even spoken with Anna!  Others have told her that they will not endorse her.  I urge everyone in the 10th district to look at Anna’s list of endorsements, and make sure that she isn’t using your name without your permission.  I know that some among the 18 (and counting) have asked Anna to remove their names from her endorsement list but she has not yet removed their names.  Perhaps she will remove them in the coming days. .

When I learned that Anna was claiming endorsements that she does not have my first thought was, who does this?  Who claims that they have endorsements that the do not have?!  Who lies about endorsements?   Republican politicians just don’t do that!  Then I remembered.  Jo-Ann Chase.  She is now helping and supporting Anna in her race.  In Jo-Ann’s last election she claimed endorsements from the VCDL and the GOA when she had neither.  In fact, they endorsed her opponent, Delegate David Ramadan.

Although Anna has done a tremendous amount of work for our party over the years,  Anna is not the kind of person we need to lead our party in the 10th district.  We need a calm, hard working, honest, candidate,  one with leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to motivate republicans.  We live in a very important swing state where we will need real leadership to meet our goals of denying Obama a second term while keeping the House, and taking back the Senate.  John Whitbeck is the person to do that.  I have full faith and trust in him to represent us well.  I know that he will never embarrass us, our party, or our state, and that he will always be honest with us.  Unfortunately I cannot say the same about Anna Lee.  Fabricating endorsements is yet another example of why we cannot place our trust and leadership in Anna.  As devoted as she has been to our party,  Anna is not the right person for his very important position in this very important election year.

If you live in Loudoun county and understand how important it is to elect John Whitbeck,  you can download the necessary form to attend the convention here: http://www.loudoungop.com/lcrc_docs/2012LCRCFilingFormv1.pdf  You can find the forms for other counties in the 10th district on John Whitbeck’s website. The convention is May 19th in Leesburg.  The filing deadline is March 18th.   See you there!

One Response

  1. One correction, Jo-Ann Chase did have the GOA endorsement. VCDL does not endorse, however the VCDL PAC does and it did endorse Delegate Ramadan.
