Celebrate America’s 235th Flag Day Today
Don’t forget, today, June 14, is Flag Day. 2012 marks the 235th anniversary of the celebration. Display your American flag proudly and properly! (This means, not like this guy…)

Where I grew up, Flag Day was a huge deal with a parade nearby that attracts nearly 100,000 people — billed as the country’s largest Flag Day Parade. Of course, the city of my birth, Troy, N.Y., where it is held is also the home to Sam Wilson – better known nationally as “Uncle Sam” — so I suppose that this shouldn’t be too surprising.

It is also the 237th birthday of the United States Army.
Happy Birthday! and Happy Flag Day!
