Virginia politics, policy and entertainment from the Greater Richmond-Washington Metro Area perspective.

“I’m Batman… I’m Going To Get You Bain…” “Ummmm… No, you’re not Batman, Mr. President… And It’s Bane, not Bain.”

And hillarity ensues.

[Plouffe] “Yeah.  Let’s shift gears.  Mr. President, you no doubt are aware of the popularity of the Batman movies.  Interestingly, the villain in this latest release is named ‘Bane’ and… [holds up leather bat-costume] “…this is your Bane-battling batcampaign batsuit!  The people will love it!”

[Obama] “Yeah, baby!  I’m gonna get to crush that evil capitalist entity!”

[Plouffe] “Actually, sir, the bad guy is ‘Bane’, not ‘Bain’.”

[Obama] “Yeah.  ‘Bain’.”

[Axelrod] “Sir, ‘Bain’ and ‘Bane’ are homophones.  They’re pronounced the same.”

[Obama] “I thought the homophone was what the mayor of Gotham would use to bat-call me when he needs me to bat-save the city from capitalism.”

Be sure to read the rest.

I notice in your list of Editors, there is no one that even patronzingly represents the moderate/progressive positions. Now having been to the former USSR, i know of institutional needs to ‘quiet’ all opposition, and especially opposition that is ‘right’most of the time, but in your Blog, one does get the impression it is not like a Russian sledgehammer, but at least pretends to be Democratic/progresssive……

No one is stopping any moderates / progressives from running their own blogs. There are lots like that out there. It isn’t our fault they suck and no one reads them.

Besides, we welcome anyone to comment here and we have never attempted to silence you. In fact, we urged you to come back after you had disappeared for a while.

Worse than the Batman Killer: Believe it or not, there is a superhero, Howard the Duck, has the same name of a mass killer who killed 217 people including himself by crashing the plane in the Atlantic Ocean, the Egyptian native Gameel Hamed Al-Batouti, and Al-Batouti, means in Arabic, Duck! Ironically, Howard the Duck was directed by Willard Huyck, the distant cousin of Emory Huyck, the victim (and hero due to attempting to rescue survivors of the 1927 bath bombing) of the worst mass murder on a school in the history of North America.
