Virginia Budget Surplus Sparks Renewed Talk Of McDonnell As VP

McDonnell_Romney

Hot on the heels of Gov. Bob McDonnell announcing a $129 million budget surplus, the third straight for Virginia and marking a surplus each year of the McDonnell Administration (manage THAT Timmy!), talk of him being tapped as Mitt Romney’s running mate is heating up again.

McDonnell is on several short-lists for the job, with the Romney campaign recently mentioning his name and expected to make a pick within the next few weeks.

You know Mr. Riley that a large debt of gratitude for the surplus goes to so much Obama funds coming to Virginia. Are you aware of the unannounced $729 million of stimulus funds coming to Virginia to fix up roads and bridges? Certainly if Romney picks Gov. Ultrasound, this would be an honor for Virginia, but right now, it looks like Rubio in my always humble opinion…..

      Apples and oranges, Ken.

This money has nothing to do with the surpluses. If the state did not receive the federal transportation funding, those projects would likely just be delayed.

And Rubio or McDonnell is much more qualified than Obama was in 2008 or is in 2012.

From VDOT Web Site: The CTB also received a briefing on the progress the commonwealth – Virginia received $694.5 million in transportation stimulus funding. The commonwealth continues to make progress in investing its available stimulus funding while meeting all deadlines and directives contained in the legislation. The update outlined that:

•51 projects have been obligated with a total value of $324.5 million
•41 projects have been advertised with a total value of $355.4 million
•40 projects have been awarded with a total value of $275.6 million
Every bit of stimulus funds helps as long as McDonnelll doesnt give credit where credit is due for his “surpluses” And NATE, do you really think that Rubio or McDonnell is qualified to be President?

We are not comparing them to what Obama may or may not have been 4 years ago. We are in current real time right now and neither of them are qualified, in my humble opinion, to serve as President..

Obama STILL isn’t ready. The boy is so far in over his head he doesn’t know which way is up….so he compensates by campaigning.
He got somewhat of another blackeye last night when they had to gather all those who actually showed up into one section behind him to zoom in on and avoid exposing all the empty seats to either side of his backdrop.
