Still Think Shooting Down That Independent Audit Of VRE Was Smart?
Last month we told you about the quashing of a request for an independent audit of the Virginia Railway Express. The opposition to this idea was led by members of the VRE Board who serve on Prince William County’s Board of Supervisors (such as Brentsville supervisor Wally Covington.) Now, in a separate case, a VRE employee has pleaded guilty in federal court to receiving over $200K in kickbacks from a subcontractor.
Does anyone still think that shooting down the request from Stafford Chairman Susan Stimpson for an independent audit was a smart idea?
