Politifact finds Tim Kaine’s claim on Pell Grants false, rates it as “mostly true”
Seriously. You don’t even have to read the whole thing because it’s just trying to make excuses for Tim Kaine.
Here’s the gist:
Tim Kaine claims George Allen voted to end Pell grants for 84,000 students based on a vote for a formula that would have tweaked income requirements.
Politifact finds:
Allen’s vote would not have cut the overall Pell Grant program; it would have slowed its rate of growth. For that we reason, we rate Kaine’s statement Mostly True.
Wait. Seriously, Politifact? Let’s try that again:
Allen’s vote would not have cut the overall Pell Grant program; it would have slowed its rate of growth. For that we reason, we rate Kaine’s statement Mostly True.
OK. So by Politifact’s reasoning, we can all argue that Tim Kaine has endorsed Barack Obama’s policies that have ENDED our economic recovery. Because they’ve certainly slowed our rate of growth in a lot areas, and using Politifact’s rating system, my statement is then MOSTLY TRUE.
Great, thanks, Politifact.
I’d say don’t quit your dayjobs but that’s what you’re screwing up here.
