NRA issues statement on Newtown shootings

NRA

Today the NRA issued the following statement:

“The National Rifle Association of America is made up of four million moms and dads, sons and daughters – and we were shocked, saddened and heartbroken by the news of the horrific and senseless murders in Newtown.

“Out of respect for the families, and as a matter of common decency, we have given time for mourning, prayer and a full investigation of the facts before commenting.

“The NRA is prepared to offer meaningful contributions to help make sure this never happens again.

“The NRA is planning to hold a major news conference in the Washington, DC area on Friday, December 21.

“Details will be released to the media at the appropriate time.”

What will be announced at the news conference on Friday?  Your thoughts?

I wouldn’t be surprised if some lunatic shows up with a high powered rifle to shoot the NRA folks thinking they will “teach them a lesson” about gun control.

Hopefully the NRA will make a contribution to mental health counseling.

I’m a pessimist so I expect the NRA to sell out and say they are willing to discuss gun bans in a misguided attempt to “make them not as bad as they would otherwise be”.

How about universal registration of all gun ownership as a means of firming up responsibility for each gun…..something we could not do until recently; and cutting clips back to 3………..federal laws. Review ATF management and procedures….Tighten management

    Ken,
Glad you cya ur atf, wouldn’t want to be taking guns out of American citizens hands and just passing them out to the Mexican cartels would you Eric, I mean Ken?

One can always suggest improvements in how things are done, whether passing laws to address current day problems (vs. continuing to rely on ‘militia’-based constitutional garbage) and conducting outside review of ATF to see if they are not also owned by NRA………………you know, i am sure, that there are agencies that are owned by the trade associations………….BUT, many NRA folks are hell-bent on maintaining the status quo……………WAKE UP FOLKS…………

THIS NRA “folk” IS HELL BENT ON KEEPING MY CONSTITUTIONALLY GRANTED RIGHT TO OWN MY FIREARMS. Are we clear enough for you, dumbass? Just because some mentally inferior jackass is hidden under mommy’s wing and coddled instead of getting help does not negate my damned right to carry and arm myself under the Constitutional guarantees that my forefathers gave me.
Anybody want to come collect them? Better bring an army. I’m the proverbial rattlesnake. I will never venture out of my cave to follow or harm anyone, but if they’re dumb enough to reach into my nest…well…they’ll get what they get.

also, “militias” as known in the Constitution, died after the Civil War…………..and this aspect of the Constitution became irrelevant………….

For someone who has a dictionary within reach, you sure are ignorant. Look up militia and get back to us. As for registering all guns……you DO KNOW THAT IN 1939 THAT’S EXACTLY THE FIRST STEP THAT
Adolph HITLER took in disarming Germany? You see, that way, he knew exactly who had the means of resisting his agenda and crippling it before it got out of his control.
