Webb – Wrong Again

Sen. Jim “Thinskin” Webb (D-WashPo) had his hat handed to him with his first major foreign policy blunder in the Senate.  We’ve previously chronicled, both here and on The A-Team during the campaign, Webb’s spectacularly wrong prognostications on U.S. foreign policy from the Soviet Union to China to Kuwait.  Now, he serves up his latest with regard to Iran.

Not only was Webb forced to withdraw his ill-advised amendment to the supplemental spending bill yesterday that would bar any funds for military operations against Iran (S. Amdt. 692), but the very same day the Senate agreed to S. Res. 136, expressing the sense of the Senate condemning the seizure by the Government of Iran of 15 British naval personnel in Iraqi territorial waters, and calling for their immediate, safe, and unconditional release.  (Even Chuck Schumer, John Kerry and Hillary! signed on to cosponsor the resolution condemning Iran, but not Webb.)

You’re doing a heck of a job, Webb-O.  A heck of a job…

  1. On the one hand, I take grim satisfaction in thus far being 100% correct about Senator Ginger Thinskin’s strategic myopia and mental instability. On the other hand, it is depressing that a razor thin majority of Virginians were too myopic in their own right to see what an embarrassment and unmitigated disaster this portly little man would be as a Senator, but instead became willing tools of the excrable WaPo–a paper that has nothing but contempt for anyone who lives outside of Arlington and Alexandria.
